Gymnastics in Missouri is highly developed and exercised at the highest levels in the world. As a sport, it does not only base on flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance, rather it also calls for physical strength and power to perform the elements consisted in the sport. There are classes meant for children as young as 24 months old. This category is called kindergym. Other levels entail participants of five years whereas others involve individuals of under 24 and so on. Each level of participation needs a given degree of skills with the greatest being international games.

Gymnastic encompasses various disciplines, which are all performed by athletes of world class. Some of these disciplines are team gym, tumbling, trampolining, aerobic, acrobatic, and artistic gymnastics. The most famous, which is the most practiced category too is artistic gymnastic. This category entails disciplines for both male and female participants. People of the same sex compete in each class of events. Apart from being a very competitive sport, gymnastic could be exercised as a recreational event.

The competitive version of this game can be practiced in both outdoor and indoor environments. The gymnasts perform whereas the judges, usually sitting at a height award marks. Scoring system bases on a score called execution score. Execution score restricts the overall number of marks one can ever attain to 10. The judges subtract points from the ten points based on how effective the gymnast is. What is left after the gymnast completes is their final score.

Currently however, a new method of giving points known as difficulty score is gaining more preference. The score has no limitation to number of marks an individual can be awarded. It bases on how difficult the elements one executes are and how effectively they are done. The score also bases on whether or not one finishes all the events.

Difficulty score system is presently in use within the United States. It is viewed as a revolution in the sport altogether. This score system has made gymnasts to invest more efforts in executing skills well. They also try to learn how to link skills to each other when performing. Infact properly linked elements when performing can earn the contestant many marks since it is a key field considered during awarding of marks.

Gymnastics in Missouri is trained in professional training facilities uniformly distributed in the region. There are several legendary gymnasts and facilities within the region for one to be taught by. Training facilities charge reasonable rates and teach best events for purposes of recreational and competition.
